I am a researcher based at the Stockholm Resilience Centre. I’m excited to join BECOME and work with the research team, as well as the network of Biosphere Reserves that are areas for learning and collaboration between communities and researchers. I’m interested in the visions of the biosphere reserves and how they navigate tensions such as ecological versus social focus, and how the focus and capacity of Biosphere Reserves for dialogue and conflict resolution has changed over time. I look forward to working with a case study in a Swedish Biosphere Reserve and to learn from case studies in the other partner countries. I appreciate BECOME’s transdisciplinary approach with stakeholder and rightsholder engagement as central, and will bring my experience from participatory processes and place-based work to the project. My experience working with different types of methods to understand social-ecological systems dynamics will be useful when linking analysis of the survey with for example spatial analysis.
